Lost Passion

The fallout from Euro 2012 continues. The British public/media scrutinize every angle. We seem to feel we have this divine right the same way that Tiger shows up at a Golf event and will win. The only difference being we(England Soccer team) are not very good. I've lived the penalty shoot outs, the next tournament the next big star, and what have I been left with ......This has nothing to do with patriotism As some would say living overseas for 20 years would lessen my emotional support. I'm still the same guy that lives for a ryder cup , ashes test , 6 nations rugby event and will even join in on the home grown bandwagon at Wimbledon. But English football and I, don't agree. Players overpaid, over hyped and unfortunately over here in the USA. A league that is a commercial success but has become the deterrent in our own development. As a nation comes to terms with the fact that we are not very good and will not be good for some length of time. We look forward to another season. I myself will not be getting up at 7:30am on a Saturday morning. Instead, I will watch some proper football on Saturday afternoons la Liga style.
