S3 BLOG

The soccer training site. Dare go elsewhere.

Priceless!

With the number of Hoosiers attending the final game in the great state of Alabama, Im sure there were many stories of family and alumni dropping what they were doing to descend and share in Sundays game/victory. However a couple of girls dear to my heart (along with their parents) have raised the bar when it comes to support for any team. Ok so the story goes "Matt do you want to travel down with the girls on Friday to watch the boys play in the semi game?" For a boy that was land locked as a child and not a fan of long distance car travel. I didn't have much hesitation in saying "No".Their response, shockingly, was well we can come back and pick you up if they get to the final. Now I've got you thinking right. Birmingham Alabama to Indianapolis. I was quite happy watching the game on TV and seeing the boys win just as I'd seen them win their DA games on ESPN back in the day. However both Alexi and Evi have a story that they will remember for the rest of their lives. And I've got to think if IU ever come knocking on their door they probably wont need much persuading to come play for them. Their story needs to be shared. The girls left Friday for the game. Watched the game and drove back through the night. Evi to run a 5k in Indianapolis Saturday morning and Lexi to play in 2 futsal games. Back in the car to make that short trip back to Alabama, through the night to join in the celebration and send off at the team hotel to finally watch the game, celebrate and then drive home. Crazy sods. 3 days . 32 hrs in the car.  2 college soccer games. A 5k run. 2 futsal games.  Party with the team.   Priceless!!!!!!
